"I accepted the challenge to run for the North Carolina House of Representatives because I was appalled at some of the bills that passed the House and some of the underhanded behavior of some of our legislators. I believe that legislators, the people you send to Raleigh to serve you, should do their best to govern in a way that is for the benefit of the people; in an honest, ethical and transparent manner.

I have spent all of my adult life caring for the needs of others. As a nurse at the US Naval Hospital and as a school health and mental health nurse, my patients and students taught me much about compassion and advocating for the needs of families. As a real estate broker, I understand the needs of small business owners and the need for a more vibrant economy. As a concerned citizen, who has remained active in various community organizations, I understand the need for good government – one that works for its people.
